http://www.guerrillagardening.org presents Brita von Schoenaich's guerrilla flower meadow in west London. From guerrilla to legitimate median meadow, here's a quick version of the story up to July 2011. For more of Brita's work visit http://www.schoenaich.co.uk

  • @Vincentbizz "Burned down" is perhaps going a bit far! You're right that to some the 'wild' guerrilla garden does look weedy, and for this reason it's more vulnerable than more obviously cultivated planting, but there's no denying the beauty of this (my rubbishy camera doesn't really capture it well until you get to the stills at 1:47) and the benefit is provides to our pollinating insects.

  • I just want to say thank you - I have driven past this twice a day for almost twenty years and this year is the first year it's made me smile - everyday, without fail. Thank you!

  • While I'm an avid supporter of Guerrilla Gardening... this just looks like a patch of weeds that needs to be burned down

  • I can't believe town councils and police in the UK fight with the volunteer gardeners about flowers. Tell them to take a cue from the state of Texas, who pays to have most of the fields surrounding major highways (motorway to you hehe :D) absolutely covered with wildflowers. The Bluebonnets (mini annual Lupins) are a huge tourism draw in Texas.
