Bowl matchups weren't too good that year. Hawaii was a good team but Georgia should've been in the NC. If anything, Hawaii should've been matched up against LSU or Illinois, who got manhandled just as bad by USC in the Rose.

Them playing Hawai'i was a waste of time this year. Beating up on USC would have been a lot better. That's the game that many people wanted, but instead....the WAC-10 paid off some committee members to avoid having USC run up on an elite SEC team.
Anyone who says USC would have even lasted 3 quarters, is either high, or from California.....which can be considered the same thing!
