MG Midget Restoration part 2

first start and drive after fixing fuel pump.
drives perfectly and engine runs well after not been started for about 15 years.
Brakes are shite, they need bleeding.

The Next Restoration vid will be most likely when it is finished.

  • hey im thinking of restoring a midget how much did this cost you roughly?

  • most of the stuff i got with the car. depends on the condition of the chassis and bodywork etc. this one cost around £80 to get running. a full resto would be around £800 - £1000 considering the welding and full respray.

  • Not Bad, any rust??

  • not realy just surface rust here and there

  • what happened to it in the first place do u know? it looked like a front collison or some really bad wearing from sitting for ages

  • you are correct. the prevoius owner had a acciedent, and the chassis had to be put on a jig and straighened. then it stood for about 19 years in a garage.

  • Reminds me of my first car, a 65 Sprite. Yours is in much better shape then mine was in. Good luck, and please post some progress pictures.

  • Any updates on the resto???

    Cheers :)

  • Excellent job man, you really need to find the missing parts and paint it, unfortunately I'm still working on my... I really hate my clutch system...

  • Except the paint job is rough !

  • How much was it for the engine to be overhauled ? Because I got one that I'm looking at that the body looks great but the engine could use sum work !?!

  • What was the fuel pump solution, Ice struggled with mine for years - any recommendations for replacement parts?

  • Any more work done on this yet mate (or still too busy with A-levels??)

    regards, john :-)

  • ok thanks!
