Tubular skylights can bring sunlight through your roof and attic and into your home. This video shows you how to install a light tube to save energy, reduce utility bills, and brighten up dark areas of your house.
Install looked great. One thing about WHERE you put any light. That big shiny circle you see on the wall at the end, it's called a light scallop. They are a no no and really show on cabinets and certain tile walls etc... My opinion solar tube should be center room. I kept walking by a bathroom at this one job and kept trying to turn off the light. No light was on, just the solar tube in the middle of the bath. Lit up the whole room!
FYI. This "D-Lite" distributor is not approved by Solatube International and any alteration made with "D-Lite" products to a Solatube Daylighting will void the warranty.
The new microfiber reflective technology used in ORCA would likely work well in a Skylight or solar tube in place of the paint because it has significantly higher reflectivity than paint, combined with a true diffuse reflection - resulting in more photons / light making it into room. Have you seen this yet in daylighting products?
Yeah, holy cow that light scallop is HUGE! and draws the eye instantly.

I would stay away from 10" tube skylights and opt for the larger 13-18" sizes. The 10" just doesn't bring in enough light.

I have this as part of my solar powered home....nothing beats the natural light filling a previously dark bathroom.....
