Hmm, you're right he has done a lot to advance the liberal cause and move the country toward socialism. I guess depending on your premise for what constitutes success, he has done quite well. It depends on who you ask. For example, by saying passing a health care bill is a success is begging the question that mandated health care is a good thing in the first place. Or saying that his "stimulus" was a success also begs the question that stimuli are a good idea. Many would disagree with these.

Don't forget that his wife Michelle Obama has also changed the national talk about physical activity and nutrition, which is extremely important. Also, now people are finally starting to realize how corrupt some financial and corporate institutions are and how many politicians serve them instead of the people. And, around the world people are fighting for democracy and looking to the U.S. as an example. These last 4 years have seen a lot of positive change.

Ask our indigenous people what Obama has done for the first nations. Promises and no results. NDAA, the stimulus package was a patch job, not a solution and didn't he appoint one of the people responsible for selling derivitives to be his financial adviser? Hmm, kind of like promoting the criminal. Yet, how many are still in jail that he promised to pardon? Oh, he did pardon some, none in jail though. Look that up!

Avoiding a second depression? Yeah right. Recovery=for the 1%, largely from the layoffs, wage & benefit cuts, facing most people. The stimulus bill did some good, but was heavily tax cuts that were extremely ineffective. We need a real jobs bill, like the One Million Climate Jobs proposal climate activists and labor unions are pushing in the UK. We need to organize ourselves & push whoever's in office to do what we want--not give more money & time to the democrats.
