Just a little heads up in case this happens to anyone else: When I was taking my zen apart, I got a little black piece of rubber which fell out of my zen as I was taking the motherboard out from under the metal tabs. This piece slips over a small silver block with black edges and a black dot by the headphones port.

Do you have suggestions for a dark screen? I'm thinking of trying to repair mine (white 8gb zen) because even with contrast maxed the screen is difficult to see. Thanks

any one know how to fix it if it keeps on shutting down independently?

@kerby53729 I spent a while finding a solution to the white screen problem, and I tried everything people said on the internet (including the solution in another YouTube video). I just discovered the solution. I simply disconnected the screen as shown in this video then reconnected it. When I turned it on it worked!!!!!!! Thanks TheGadgetDr!!!

@kerby53729 You cannot fix a white screen. The only option is to replace it with a new LCD screen of the same part number.

@increasethegrease This is a flash based player; the memory is stored in an IC memory chip; it has no hard drive.
