For Computerworld.com, I evaluated 3 free video editors that can be used on Windows. First up is Avidemux (http://avidemux.berlios.de/). It has a lot of tools to enhance the picture quality of your footage (which I did here to my video by sharpening, and adjusting the brightness and contrast of, the image). But Avidemux adheres to a strictly linear way of editing video, which makes it difficult to experiment with the ordering of your video clips. It also lacks standard features like allowing you to super-impose text over your video, or insert transition effects between your shots.
