Wow! I have a later model (iMac G3 DV+) and it is fab! Do consider getting OS X 10.2 on them. The tray loader can take up to 512 Mb of Ram (CL2) 2x 256MB.
The slot-loader can take up to 1 GB of ECC memory. Mine is maxed out with 1 GB of RAM. If you put in a big hard drive (larger than 128 GB) it will only be recognized as a 128 GB one.

@kf932009 Well, considering I have only ever seen one once that was being thrown out (but it was water damaged) so I didn't take it (because it way dangerous when wet) I would say that they are very rare indeed!
