Well umn I'm not sure if that's what you mean but in SV, when you pull a vidoe to the timeline, there's this small square symbol at the right side of the video event, it's called event cropping or something, and you just click right and then chose asimilate output proportions or somthing I guess? My SV is german so the terms are probably not quite the same...
