Did I tell you that I'm a very weird person who actually thinks a Viennese girl, a Western, a Boston Waltz and a Russian song can be mixed?

Tribute to Hedy Lamarr as a Southern Belle in her second technicolor film 'Copper Canyon'. I always blame MGM for not putting her in more color films, especially during the early 40s. That is a HUGE pity for me.

But anyway, at the age of 37 with 2 children, she still looked great, didn't she? ;-)

  • she liz taylor and vivien leigh had the same kind of beauty: but for me its Lamarr all the way: the other two are pale imitations.

  • Even if it is a later film in her career (1949) she looks fabulous in color !!!!

Her blue-grey eyes are like two gems !! What a perfect face !! Cute nose !

"Her face was magnificent.... she was enough to make strong men faint" (Lana Turner)

"You didn't miss that face of hers. Oh, it was fabulous, just fabulous !" (Myrna Loy)

"As far as classical beauty is concerned you could not then find anyone to top Lamarr (Errol Flynn)

""I would have given my soul to look like Hedy lamarr" (Doris Day)

  • finally saw this movie tonight. i Really liked it! it was a very good movie, all the different agendas being threaded together, without being loose or too busy in terms of plot. i loved jake, even though he was the villain. and im never wild about ray milland.

BUT for one of the only times, i was engaged in the character Hedy was playing, i was watching Lisa, and not just swooning over Hedy the whole time. Bravo! just cant get enough of her, so happy when her movie is good enough for her

  • If she was alive today....she would be kicking every actress's a22.......today .....shes that beautiful and classy

  • Is she really 37 here?

Angelina Jolie eat your heart out....phew!

  • She really really adored her kids. And she definitely wanted kids. But she was a very strict mother, that is she required from them all the independence and responsibility and maturity that only adults have. That gave them a hard time. But that doesn't mean that they don't absolutely love her or vice versa.

  • I wouldn't say she adored her kids too much. In my honest opinion, I don't think she wanted kids. From watching her sons documentary on her, though they love her, there was a lot of bitterness and anguish.

  • she is the type of woman a man has to be totally honest with and give her all the physical love he has to give to hold her , smart ,shrewd , and catty claw faithful

  • Ray didn't hate Hedy, he just said that it was difficult at times working with foreign actress's. He said the same thing about Marlene. Their european style confused him.

  • I understand, but things can be interpreted so differently when we see them in writing, on documentries (where the person is already dead), and in what others have said. Some of the things people said about her could have been exaggerated, and the documentaries might be not be 100 valid. Others may distort facts when talking about someone who is no longer living. I get what you mean though.
