Good movie! An excellent tale, sexually explicit though when the violin ends up in the hands of Frederick Pope, (the devil)...meaning - Anna/The Red Violin, will meet a handsome and intelligent man, that will seduce her "with his talent and worse". That could have been done without being so explicit. :)

actually, the violin isn't actually cursed. Pay close attention to the tarot spread done for Anna. Her obsession with the Moon, the blood of hers used as varnish and Lucifer himself starring as....the red violin. It's been said that Lucifer-the artist and trickster archetype while granting creative genius, also provides such gifts with a price to be paid. It takes a few viewings and a decent amount of knowledge in archetypes and psychology and mythology to figure this one out.

Does any one know the title of this soundtrack?

@mahanxi No, the French agent guy did, and then sold it to them, to help recoup his losses. He had invested a lot of money in Kaspar Weiss, and when Kaspar died, he probably went bankrupt and had to sell everything he had in order to survive. So he needed that violin, so that he could sell it, along with his suits, horses, carriage, house and everything else that could put a little bit of money between himself and starvation.

I almost wanted to throw up when i found out they buried the violin with Kaspar

@darkpossessed121 That reminds me of the gun in that TV show, 'Colt Law'.

some people would even have bombs put in the caskets to keep them safe from grave robbers
this was done in the past ... the keep them away
so, the cursed violin brings bad luck, it let's people who use it cause bad happenings.
