  • The United States needs a central bank. it always has, all the way back to the first Bank of the United States that was created by Alexander Hamilton, who knew a thing or two about the subject. If you do away with the Fed, you'll have to create a similar entity to occupy its place and perform its function. Blaming our financial woes on the Fed is convenient, but it doesn't always make sense.

  • I am simply sugguesting that the Fed be released from PRIVATE control and it's function be returned to the congress. (Not that this group of Reps have a clue!)

  • Less than 500 people have watched this... and I'm Brazilian... I guess that explains the situation

  • @armyveteran101st it makes a ton of sense, what r u talking about?? The fed is not federal, it has no oversight whatsoever from the people or the government. Not to mention the currency is backed by nothing. Nobody but the fed heads and those on the "inside" have any say of where our money goes. We do not need to have 1 single central entity, but we can. Only this 1 will have government and congressional oversight, and that way people can help dictate where their ta x dollars go. FUCK THE FED

  • Congress itself decided in 1913 that the Federal Reserve System should be in the hands of private and public entities, and that's the way it's been since. That's how you achieve balance. If you transfer the entire system to the government, that would give credence to the up-to-now irrational charges coming from Republicans accusing the government of everything that goes wrong due to its size. The problem wasn't the Fed, it was undue influence on it from the Bush administration.
