In 1967 the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts acquired a monumental statue of the Roman emperor Septimius Severus. The statue had once belonged to the famous 17th-century Italian collector Vincenzo Giustiniani (1564--1637), who displayed it with his extensive collection of ancient art. But in the late 1960s, scholars questioned whether any or all of the statue had actually been carved in antiquity. Eventually, VMFA took the statue off public view and placed it in storage. In 2007 the museum undertook a comprehensive research campaign using scientific and art historical methods to determine whether or not the statue is a work of ancient art. In addition to the extensive research and testing that was carried out, the statue was cleaned, conserved, and restored before being placed in the museum's Tapestry Hall.

But the most imporatnat thing to know is that in the people Morocco, Maurithania, Algeria, tunis and Libya are genealogicaly Berbers. 87% of the populations of this copuntries has the DNA MALE Berber markers. You are accusing the black africans of taking credit of nations heritage but you are doing exacty the same. go get yourself some true knowlegde.

@packtube2 Hahah what bunch of LIES. Firts of all Septimius Severus FATHER was not a Phoenician but a Lybico Berber his Mother was Italian. berbers have never ever been pushed far inlands hills who the heel has ever told you that stupidty? Morocco, Maurithania, Algeria, tunis and Libya are all countries with ethically Berber populations. Berbers are subsaharan and they are even lighter then spaniards and Italians. look to Zidane or the BArcelona player Ibrahim Afellay.

Blacks always try to take credit for any great person in Ancient times. Sorry. The egyptians were not black either. They show very clearly the skin color on Tomb walls and the blacks as lowly servants.

Severus was a descendant of Romans and coastal Carthaginian Phonecians. He was not Black. Even the Berbers of the day were pushed far into the inland hills by 1st Millennium B.C. occupiers who were of Middle Eastern origin. His skin would have been little darker than say a Turk, a Jew or a dark complected Latin. Check out the coins with his name on them.
