A retrospective - these are a few grabs from the 2 day walk Mark and I did April30-May01 last year ('09). As WA's only alpine walk, it boasted amazing scenery (this video carriers a 'vista' warning!) It had been a long, dry summer so the water barrel on Second Arrow, wedged in a crevass to catch water drips, was down to it's last muddy 15mm. Being a bit of a water hog I was carrying 10 litres of water with me, and it was only just enough! We ended day 2 descending Bluff Knoll by moonlight.
Great video. We did the same 2 day walk this year (end April 2010) - 5 of us (4 men and myself). We camped at the camping cave in Third Arrow. The guys primed the water barrel and managed to drain the last 10 Litres or so. I only drank around 1.5L the first day and therefore carried 2L the second day (ran out the second day, ended up drinking 3L instead!) Downhill as you mentioned was definitely the harder part of the hike - toes were bruised, thighs ached, knees sore! Thanks for video. Apple
