Interview Ilham Aliyev To Information Agency Khabar

Upon completion of his state visit to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev gave interview to the reporter of Information Agency Khabar.

First, President Ilham Aliyev answered questions on cooperation in field of oil and gas and participation of Kazakhstan in Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project.

Noting the necessity for more efficient use of opportunities and potential of both states President of Azerbaijan said 'Kazakhstan's participation in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project will meet Azerbaijan's interests, as well as Kazakhstan as a whole, strengthen regional safety. Today, there is intention of Kazakh party to use our infrastructure for the transportation of the own energy resources - oil in future, perhaps, gas through our nets. On our turn, we are ready to create all conditions to transport Kazakh oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.'

In reply to the question about positive experience of Kazakh reforms in various spheres in the Commonwealth of Independent States and use of that in Azerbaijan President of Azerbaijan said:

- Today over 70% of our GDP is on the share of private sector. Of course, two of our countries have a lot of common things to do. However, there is a field we would like to take your experience from and we were discussing it in the framework of our meeting with President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev and Prime Minister. This relates to the reform in the field of energy. No problem exist in Azerbaijan in this field, i.e. non-payment, unbalanced tariffs for the energy resources. We would like to share your experience.

Here I also knew that pension reform was actively carried out in Kazakhstan. Private pension funds have been created and the government is not undertaken with it. It hasn't happened in Azerbaijan yet and we are very interested in Kazakh experience. We agreed that our specialists will come to you to study this experience, so that we couldn't use it at ours. As a whole, I think in other directions we will have more contacts on different levels and we will be rendering assistance to each other.

President also answered questions on the outlooks of the united economic space, possibility of inclusion of Azerbaijan in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
