Only the dead have seen the end of war -- Plato.

Did millions really die to set us free? From Freedomain Radio - http://www.freedomainradio.com

This is a series of excerpts from a talk I delivered on Remembrance Day, November 11, 2008, the full version of which can be accessed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Auax5rpJPI

  • Blatant appeal to emotion. Little logical content.

  • War should be obsolete! I come from a military family and know many Veterans who have told me the truth about war. The ones who start the wars (the elite) never have to shed their own blood in these wars. If THEY had to be at the frontlines, there would BE NO MORE WAR!

  • @Nycholai "Why should people with opposing ideas believe you if you disagree without explaining why you disagree?" You're asking me to prove a negative, which itself is illogical (e.g. prove to me there AREN'T aliens hiding at the bottom of the ocean). Why do I disagree? Because it lacks content. Why? Because it does (can't go beyond this; it's impossible to point to a LACK of content as evidence--onus is on you). So I must turn this around and ask what argument from the video you find valid.

  • @sybo59 Why should people with opposing ideas believe you if you disagree without explaining why you disagree? You seem condescending. It could be true that there is little logical content. But can you please explain why the content is illogical?

  • I'm sure someone has pointed this out to you, but if they haven't, the quote you attribute to Plato is misattributed.

  • @Bullets632

    Wow, that's original.

  • @TheAmazonwoman2 its been like that for thousands of years

  • truth is always the first causalty of war

  • Very well said Sir.

  • @sybo59 And what's ridiculous about my comment regarding the elite? If they have to be at the frontlines in the wars they start, they would think twice about starting more wars.
