  • Dude.... I just heard the Ochs version.... the first time I ever heard him. It makes me think Bob who? (Dylan) Jesus, his voice is one of the best I've EVER heard and his charged songs... so much passion I'm in utter disbelief.

  • "...But if you'll look at my left hand."

  • Ya the Phil Ochs version is amazing.

To bad the FBI killed him.

Just like like Judge Ritchie and Governor Spry killed Joe Hill.

Check out Joan Baez: "I dreamed I saw Joe hill last night" then Billy Bragg: "I dreamed I saw Phil Ochs last night"

  • eh, after listening to this song to the end, it won me over. i think it was when he mentioned "alberto gonzales". i guess some people are actually paying attention to shit after all.

  • @drummerlinn Yeah you should just clean the shit out of your ears and stop complaining about a guy who's had a successful career with his baritone like voice as well as being an advocate for the people ,why do you think he did this song in the 1st place, ergo S T F up (Eddie the Vedderman you can't find a better band)

  • Love you Phil - this day and every day. If Eddie's work here gets just one person to check out your work, my beautiful friend, then there is no down side.

  • @drummerlinn You talk way too much and FYI no one gives a shit about your opinions

  • @drummerlinn GFY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lets all hope this song will not be revised again : ) \/

  • @Mertdizzle15 I just found out about Phil Ochs. He is AMAZING!!!

  • @drummerlinn Take it easy friend. I didn't mean to offend. Any fan of Phil's is my brother. I was just chiding a little. Actually I'm not a fan of Pearl Jam and I didn't know this guy was from Pearl Jam, but I don't think his rendition of the song was a slap in face of Ochs fans. I think he was honestly trying to honor Phil's memory and message. Now Tim Robbins on the other hand shouldn't get anywhere near a microphone and sing, especially anything of Phil's.

  • @KjelRayMJP ...and how that is a slap in the face of phil Ochs fans that haven't grown an ear for eddie's word waterfall. In a way, it's subjective. Accents happen, bodies adapt, people are better all around with what they're used to.

You deciding to negatively judge the kind of person I am is far more hateful than me voicing how offended I am at his singing diction.
