Glad you found it useful. Yes to ping a hostname you need DNS however you could just as easly ping an IP address. 8.8.8.8 - Google's public DNS Servers - I always use this address for testing connectivity to the internet.

I was using MS Loopback then bridging it to outgoing NIC. lol....wasted step. Great video... very clear.
I had to configure DNS on router (GNS3) to ping to internet.

What about intervlan routing i.e. routing on a stick?? How do you configure it?

Hi!
Great Video! I tried it but i only can ping my interface of my pc but not the DG .. so i also cannot access the internet.
With the MS Loopback it does work fine, but i would prefer doing it your way.
Do you maybe have an idea?
I use Windows 7 64-bit with GNS3 0.7.4

Your DG needs to have a route back to your GNS3 Subnet and/or the loopback network.
