  • Pretty good on the design with the possible exception of the cylinder sizing. Mallet compounds use primary cylinders of about half the displacement of the secondary cylinders, as did The Baldwin Locomotive Works on their 2-6+6-2's, to balance the engines at their respective differential steam pressures.
