Verse 1:
as she punches in for work
pulling her badge and name tag out of her purse
back to the grind another day another dollar
one more busy morning working at the north tower
opens the door to go inside her office
gazing out the windows, the view is so flawless
she takes sips of her fresh cup of coffee
until an airplane hits the 81st story
the floor shakes and pandemonium breaks out
she starts helpin other people find their way out
looking for all of the women and the children
pointing them in the direction to get them up out the building
a civilian working with the officers
denying any help that the fire fighters offered her
as a team they saved so many more
but the building starts to fall before they could reach the door

no matter the age, religion or creed
you see what they did for you and me
the lives that they lived, they loved it so much
but they gave it all up for us
what a beautiful tragedy

Verse 2:
wedding bells ringing
both of their families are singing
kids ecstatic, riding in that carriage
on their way to the honeymoon to celebrate their marriage
they make a turn onto the turnpike
all of a sudden the driver makes a sharp right
a truck cuts through their car like scissors
some prick who cant choose between the wheel and his liquor
he wakes up in the hospital
finds out the doctors operating on her
they say she needs a donor or she wont make it
but the operating team is still waiting on them
he cant believe what he sees
but he wants her to live
so he goes and tells the doctor he can dig inside his ribs
so that she can make it out and be a mother to his kids

Verse 3:
dressed for combat, ready for the war
a survivor, hes been through it before
a brave soldier so far from his station
fighting for his country in a foreign nation
the dessert sun is on its way down
as they start to get settled in this very small town
the old village is unusually quiet
then a round of gun fire breaks out like a riot
under heavy enemy fire now
they realize the situations getting dire now
his platoon is retreating up the road
and as cars explode he attempts to reload
keeping focus is getting harder
his man is down and he wont make it much farther
enemies aim at him but before they spray at him
he jumps in front of him and takes a bullet for his partner
