There are so many W-school all around the world, so parents have lots of choice to make decision where they want to send their child, which one is the high-quality. Tnx

Wow! I´m in a dutch waldorf school, and I never realised that the figures i was painting did mean such things. Now I understand, and i recognise. Making the geometrical paintings has always bin one of my favourite things to do.
At the moment I´m still in a waldorf school, 11th class, an my favorite subjects still are natural sciences, maths and geometry.
Loved the movie :)

Waldorf kids are just learning to draw polygons. In most classrooms, kids learn about linear and quadratic functions, rate of change, line segments, planes, finding angle degrees without a protractor, finding perimiter, area, and volume of squares to cyllinders, and more. Without spending three hours studying a day.

Hello,
I am from Chicago and would love to know what is the name of the geometric shape the 6th graders drew when the video is at 3:21?
I love that shape and I can't seem to find out more information on how to learn to draw these shapes from 3:21 to the end.
thanks you for any help. I tried to find an email for you online so I hope you see this

hahah saw this in school so funny

fascinating. they are very talented. but even this approach seems ridged. why not hand the compass to the first grader rather than wait for five more years to pass? children at that age are already becoming more dexterous than their teachers. if they can handle consoles and handheld gaming devices, i think they can handle a compass. no sarcasm intended, i believe that is simply a fact in human development.

This is absolutely beautiful! I'll bet these kids were very engaged when coloring their creations. That's what learning is all about!

@Pant4 The oldest know rendering of the flower of life sacred geometric form is at he Great Temple at Giza. As shown here it goes to many different forms. The Tetrahedron for ex. The circumpunct is what is very intriguing in the section talking about the 6 graders drawing a circle from the center out. Sacred geometric forms can effect healing in the body. Get a flower of life shield for you cell phone to protect against emfs. You can download them free, just do a search or chk here on yt.

@rickym23227 That's very interesting, please, tell us more.
I loved this video and the drawings, such a beautiful art.

Why the hell are all schools not like this? I always try this stuff in maths while the teacher drones on. I'm not very good at them though.

i was in this class..
There is nothing inherently dull about geometry! So the first statement in this video already turns me off. And no mention of Pythagorus? Don't pretend to talk to me about the "rigorous" foundation of these patterns without talking about Pythagorus. Don't show me pretty pictures, show me students who will grow up to build bridges that don't fall down. If Waldorf geometry is only about the aesthetics of geometric patterns, then Waldorf is not teaching geometry. It is teaching aesthetics.

A 4-minute video cannot do justice to the richness of the Waldorf geometry curriculum, which extends over all 8 grades. Waldorf students learn about Pythagoras in Grade 5 - my class even performed a play about him -- and his theorem is presented several different ways from grades 5 through 8. Euclid's theorems are also taught with rigor in grade 8. Waldorf students LOVE geometry!
