  • Hi. I heared this sing on a very long busride from Thessaloniki to TIrana on my back-packing trip this summer and I just fell in love with the song, and of course Silva Gunbardhi. Can anyone please translate the lyrics for me? :) and does Silva have any other songs that I should hear?

    Love from Norway :)

  • Pekuli means with love, not food. No direct translation.

  • I brought you up with "pekuli' (type of food) my daughter ...my daughter.

You have such a glow in your wedding day... my daughter....my daughter.

You hairpiece & bouquet made with fresh flower looks so beautiful on you

Why do you close your beautiful eyes?,

come close to me & let me kiss you in your forehead

    ....your absence will burn me

I will miss you my daughter..my daughter

  • The daughter replies

Since I was a little girl, every time you put me to bed

you always said kind words coming from your heart

Days, months and years will pass, but I always will be your little girl

You raised me up with pekuli

  • the mother replies you look so beautiful in your wedding day

let the dancing and singing continue and I wish you joy and happiness in your life

then she compares her daughter's beauty to the Ali Pasha's daughter

my tears of joy and your kisses are going to keep me warm in the cold winters

    then the daughter replies

My lovely mom who never got tired caressing and showing me love

Sometimes you held me up in your shoulders, other times I set in your lap

often your warm hands would stroke my hair.

  • @394405 Sometimes the words don't rhyme or the meaning is not the same in another language, but this is the closes translation that I could come up with from Albanian to English without losing the original meaning.

    Enjoy
