Explosion Event | Black Fireworks

Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang exploded black fireworks above the Atomic Bomb Dome by the Motoyasu-gawa river to commemorate the victims of the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima city.

The installation by the Chinese contemporary artist used about 1,000 explosives, creating a large plume of black smoke eeriery resembling a mushroom cloud.

The event formed the opening of an exhibition in Hiroshima.

ヒロシマ賞を受賞した現代美術家・蔡國強による火薬パフォーマンス・イヴェント「黒い花火」。2008年10月25日午後1時、広島市の原爆ドーム近くの上空に黒煙火薬に­よる花火が打ち上げられ、約90秒の連続爆発によって空に墨絵のような痕跡を描いた後、ふたたび消えた。

撮影・編集した映像をクリエイティヴコモンズの理念のもとに動画共有サイトに公開します。火薬パフォーマンスがアーティスト蔡國強の作品であることを明示・説明していただ­ければ、上映や編集など自由に活用できます。
