Tyler, Texas
Tyler Police have arrested one of three suspects in an early morning attempted ATM theft.
Tyler Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle at Dove Tree Apartments early Friday morning. Officers were told the driver of the truck had his face covered with a bandanna, and was driving very slowly.
When Police arrived, the suspect truck was seen burning rubber exiting from the American State Bank parking lot on Old Jacksonville Highway.
Police say the truck was dragging a large chain, which they were using in an attempt to pull the ATM off its pedestal at American State Bank.
After authorities tried to pull the truck over, the driver of the truck and the two occupants fled down dead-end Tyler Park Drive, where police say they abandoned the vehicle and ran into the woods.
Officials determined the Z71 pickup the suspects were driving, had been stolen from Meadow Brook Apartments on Paluxy.
William Alexander Walker, 21, of Garland, was apprehended and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.
No cash was stolen from the machine.
Charges are pending in the attempted ATM theft.
The two other suspects are still at large. If you have information on this crime, you are asked to call the Tyler Police Department.

People shouldn't be allowed to be this stupid but then again it would be no fun.
