Could this valve cause a vehicle to just shut down and die completely while running or driving down the road? I have some sort of electrical problem and the battery is good.

The wiring is not right if the IAC is getting hot. What is the compression and cam lift on this motor?

THRES THE PROMBLE ITS A CHEVY! ALSO TRY HOOKING BACK UP THE VACUME HOSE ASEMBLEY WITH ELETRONIC SHIFT ASSIST TO THE TRANSMISSION. I SEE A BIG HOLE IN YOUR MANAFOLD WHERE THE E-S-A TO THE TRANNY SHOULD GO THATS WHY ITS IDOLING LIKE CRAP!!

If you were unsure of the pinout why didn't you look at some schematics of the old motor and the new motor? Randomly swapping wires does not seem like the best approach. Although, i do like that you gave that thing some balls. Even if it is a Chevy...But seriously, i'm sure that was a lot of work swapping it out, but they make some pretty awesome manuals that are very detailed. All in all, Good job.
