shannon is my all time favorite. :) and thumbs up for her awesome permed bangs lol i was rocking bangs just like that around this same time :) gotta love the early 90's :)

Indeed she had difficulty, but compared to Chousovitina,Milosovici or "Gutsu" who raised the bar at those Olympics, her difficulty was a little below them. Nevertheless and I insist...IT WAS A JOY TO WATCH HER BALLETIC TRADEMARK FROM HEAD TO TOES !!!

a CLASSIC routine!! I remember being shocked when finally changed her floor music [I think it was in '95? That was the first time I saw her new routine anyway....] I always appreciate the attention to detail in the choreo of this routine!

You just don't get routines like this anymore. though the difficulty isn't as high as what you see nowadays the elegance throughout the whole routine is beautiful. The artistry is barely visable in gymnastics these days as the routines need to be packed with difficulty to be in with a chance of medalling. I miss these routines.

This is what I call REAL CLASSIC GYMNASTICS COREOGRAPHY !!! May she lacks of difficulty, but Boy...Her dance moves are simply AWESOME!!! I guess she was the last to have this kind of ballet-coreography routines. Todays Floor Excercises are just jumps, leaps and tumbling passes. No elegance at all. Not even Lavinia ( I'm a true fan of her), Henrietta or Tatiana had this kind of trademark. Bravo Shannon!!!

I am not saying Retton was more decorated though, just why I like her and some other American gymnasts more than Miller. One doesnt automaticaly have to like the gymnast with the biggest medal haul otherwise Khorkina would have to be everyones favorite gymnast, and Milo's one of everyone's favorite Romanian gymnasts ever, LOL!
