  • wish you could have shown the full video of the kid so people could realize you have to transition the weight to your back foot

  • @Choncy21 are you retarded he was one of the greatest pitchers of all time im pretty sure pitching is a hell of alot harder than hitting you know nothing of babe ruth he was also a very very aggressive base runner who had a huge heart for kids

  • It appears, also, that Ruth's left arm is kept quite straight, as would a golfer's left arm. This would allow more of a "whipping" motion, and more speed. Do you agree?

Your students left arm is more bent at the elbow at this position.

  • Awesome video.

  • Babe ruth was not a great athlete. He was an overweight, sloppy drunk who was a legendary womanizer. Booze, food, broads and cigars. And ALOT of it. He could hit a baseball long and far tho. Good hitter, terrible athlete.

  • He also struck out a lot, it looks like he was using full power motions, so when he connected, watch out, he was also a great athlete.

  • I love the highlighting.. Every time we review swings it is very difficult to really see and understand what a coach is explaining. This method of highlighting makes it clear as day to how The Babe distributed his weight forward and really had a nice coil. -Coach Jeanette

  • Please take a look at Babes front side and his push and the postion of his hands when his front foot comes down.....please listen to the commentator's explanation!!!!!!

  • totally agree about Ichiro. They both use their forward momentum. When Ruth would miss, he'd sometimes spin all the way around thanks to his momentum. Ruth said he modeled his swing after Shoeless Joe, who I wish we had more film of. I wonder if Ichiro modeled his swing after Ruth, which would be interesting since he isn't a power hitter
