@sounddoctrine101 you're correct up to a certain point, but miss the point that pastors/shepherds are actually supposed to equip and disciple other Christians how to lead themselves in order to win more souls for Christ and glorify God in all other areas of their lives. We must realize that a pastor is there to guide others towards God. Also, a pastor of an assembly were of multiple elders who matured in the faith. Elders are not rulers over a people because they are brethrens as well.

Amen! we all have the priesthood, that are to give true worship (rom 12:1-2) but we are not all called to pastor/shepherd -one who leads- (Ephesians 4:11). moreover a church should be free to excercise gifts from individuals. but there needs to be a pastor to feed & protect the flock of GOD (Ecclesiastes 12:9-11) this is a gift that your home church is missing. for the shepherd, The preacher is to find out acceptable words: and that which is written that is upright, even words of TRUTH.
