I think they should run large irrigation stand pipes every 500 feet (similar to fire hydrants) all across the fire prone areas. When needed, they shoot off water like a giant sprinkler system.

I think what you are saying is the real bullshit to be honest! These wild fires are old stuff and frequent visitors of SoCal! Different governors and presidents flew over them in their shoppers and airplanes in different periods just to observe the mass. None came with a smart solution but to throw buckets of water over it. Obama is the newer in this picture. So, instead of bad mouthing people, come with some ideas.

Now that I noticed! You can not fight those huge fires like that 0:23 guys!!! Half hour to fill up a water dropper bag is not cool. You need some CANADAIR CL415´s or some Be-200´s. People and nature are getting messed up!
