Pakistanis eye US presidential race - 03 Nov 08

US General David Petraeus is in Pakistan as part of his first trip as head of US Central Command.

The visit comes amid mounting tensions over US drone attacks in the country's tribal belt and an increase in attacks by al-Qaeda and Taliban-linked fighters.

The US presidential candidates are divided on how to tackle fighters along the Afghan-Pakistan border.

Kamal Hyder, reporting from North Waziristan, asks ordinary Pakistanis how they think the election of a new US president could impact on their lives.

They don't. After 9/11 americans called their politicains and said "i dont wanna ever have to deal with anything like this ever again. Make sure I don't." And thats what the american goverment is doing. Making sure they don't. When a mother in pakistan looses her baby to a bomb attack, does she feel any less pain than an american woman loosing her baby in a bomb attack?

are you kidding me? Pakistan is not protecting the terrorists, it is protecting its civilians. It knows that once the al-qaeda members are stirred up against pakistan, the civilians will be in great danger.
