  • i can beat that. bert come accross an otter the other day .that was a task and a half separating those two.

ps. din't know a rabbit lived in a set?.

  • Where are you? I can't believe how many youtube clips there are on Patterdales! Nobody I have met in California has ever heard of Patterdale terriers. Even friends from the UK have no idea what a Patterdale is. We have a 9 month old pup that is the love of my life! Best dog ever! Probably because we Americans haven't over bred them yet

  • hi bratty

we live in a place called morar in the west highlands of scotland.we rescued bert from a dog home when he was approx 9 months old, and to be totally honest with you i had never heard of this breed either.however ,we love him and he is a great wee character

  • Patterdales are really clever and athletic. Ours is an amazing dog, she knows so many commands. She can lie flat on her belly and creep along and now we have trained her to do it when we say the word "commando". The funniest thing she did was when we had a crayfish on our lawn and she was trying to bite it but it kept on nipping her with its claws. We put the crayfish back in the river but later we heard the dog barking and the crayfish was back again! Patterdales are an amazing breed.

  • can u give me some tips on how to train him to do the comando crawl

  • hi thanks

been trying with bert latley but he's having non of it.

  • My dad had a patterdale a few years ago who lost my dad on a walk, so when he returned to the van before my dad having found his way back, jumped and sat on top of the van in order to see over the horizon - for dads benefit as much as his, as dad was able to see him and the pup was able to see dad. We have bred some amazing show-winning patterdales over the years, and they still to this day amaze me. So clever, mischavous and fearless, they are the best companions ever.

  • check my patter dale with my english bull terrier what a pair they will be..

  • We saw a patterdale on the TV show "It's me or the Dog" from England. Victoria Stilwell? showed an owner how to train a patterdale they got from a puppy mill. She knew exactly what the breed was. We taught our dog to do the "commando" by putting a treat on the floor and telling him to go down and to crawl while we drag the treat with our fingers. If he stays down and crawls a bit we reward him. Now he will crawl quite a way. Very stubborn dogs, but they love food rewards.

  • ive got patterdale called bobby

he dug a rabbit out of its set today

    great little dog

  • She did it naturally before so we just made sure that whenever she did it we would say the word commando and tap the floor and then reward her. Eventually we could just tap the floor with a treat and say the command and she would do it.
