Haha, we are all 'pieces of rock'; we all originated in the cauldrons of stars. The matter that I am comprised of is the same matter that comprises you, eons ago our atoms were once together in an impossibly dense point, and billions of years later we are convening over the internet, atoms that were once spread billions of light years apart are once again together.

Personally I think that there aren't any rocks that aren't idiots.

Is this a tone poem? I feel like there must be a story behind it

How can a man like Beethoven, even deaf, composing such wonders, without any kind of technology?? This proves that it is God who gives a gift as wonderful as this: the music ... :)

What a profund music... it go deepless in the human nature. If you can´t feel human and part of the cosmos hearing this, you are an idiot or you are a piece of rock

All I keep hearing from this piece is regret stemming from the loss of innocence and youth. It's a deeply moving piece, and it's emotionally cathartic. For each time I hear this piece, I also think of the aftermath of war for those involved. Beethoven was/is brilliant in his way of expressing complex emotion through music.
