I know people have uploaded the Kashmiri song already, but i thought i would make a kind of sing-a-long. Video set to scenes from The Sheik.

  • Today we mark 85 years since he passed away. What a black day it is. I shall see one of his films, but it's hard to make up my mind since I love them all.

  • @daeelly I know it's hard for me to pick a fav film of his. I think his acting improved with each film, so i think his last 3 films really showcase his talent best. ;)

  • He had a very charming voice and surely he might have been a great singer if he had lived longer. How tragic that his life ended so suddenly and prematurely just when he was at the peak of his career. This recording is a rare treasure. It would have been wonderful to see him pass from silent to talking movies, he would surely be equally successful. If he had been so irresistible only when you looked at him one can imagine how much more so he would have been when you heard him speak or sing.

  • @fay450 Yes ;)

  • I alway was courios to know if he had an accent.

Could have he a carrier in the sound film or not?

  • @Miauriceful It's hard to know without hearing him actually speak. Some with accents did well in talkies, some didn't. But, if needed, there were English speech coaches.

  • Uhhh....I absolutely love how his accent comes through in this song! What a dreamy man he was! I don't think any man in hollywood now has the sex appeal he had. Wow, 80 years after his passing and he's still affecting us women!! *whew* lol

  • @ccipollini1984 I would like to do more than just hold him. ;)

  • Cud, miód ultramaryna! KOCHAM GO!

  • Wow! Always wanted to know how Rudy sounded like!! Couldn't understand the lyrics so thanks for titling. A true legend, so passionate in his films, especially his later ones. He could've handled the talkies but my guess that even if he did survive, he would've retired by then. Great find by a unique screen legend. A lot don't understand his appeal, but I find him the most blazingly passionate star on screen...thanks Rudy....

  • @IrishEyez01 he's affecting not only women :)

  • @dirtysouthlepluv - Listen to Russ Columbo's recordings - I think there's a similarity to the timbre of the baritone. I think Valentino's voice is slightly darker and deeper than Columbo's. Sort of a cross between Columbo and Vaughn Monroe. My subjective opinion here. It would have been fascinating to hear what he would have sounded like in the late 1920's or early 1930's. Of course there would have been an English accent coach needed for the talkies.

  • It's thrilling to hear Rudy's voice! It sounds like he has a very strong Italian accent, so sexy, charming, and utterly masculine.
