This is surely one of my favourite clips from 'Victory over the Sea'. I saw it long ago in 1984. The effectiveness of the RN Sea camouflage was very striking - at a distance, the wings of the Swordfish seem to disappear....Thanks for putting the clip from Reaching for Skies on here - got the one of the T-2 Buckeye as well ?

several of these small flimsy little planes sunk 3 mighty Italian Battleships at Taranto. doesn't seem right does it.
-
My Grandad repaired these plains in the fleet air arm

Don't know why I was drawn to this plane at a young age. I guess it was the thought of an outdated plane getting the job done. Speaks well of the crews
-
5/5 for the friction starter. I would be scared to death to prop start that plane.
-
the slowest, the weakest but the most legendary plane, next to the spitfire, the swordfish sunk loads on ships with very few loses.
-
and so was the very modern Bismarck!!

Relic from a lost age maybe, but so was much of Mussolini's very modern navy after the Stringbags visited!
