Perhaps the most personal and heartbreaking song Joni ever wrote, and there were many others. For me it's the line 'There'll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow' that I can't hear without an involuntary and sudden sob, and how hard it must have been for her to write it, record, and perform it. Joni Mitchell, you are a genius and I'll never get to meet you.
