The question I am asked more than any other is "how do I improve my confidence?"

I believe this inability to feel confident about "doing violence" which is a completely natural biological imperative must come down to social conditioning, taboo behaviours and the sanitisation of the modern man.

Drilling in a completely aggressive, purely assault focussed way - in the way a criminal predator might - could be a key to overcoming the ingrained aversion to being violent.

One of the Norway Stomps videos

Yes it upsets people (just check out the comments on the video), yes these kids are idiots, mentioning that is so mind numbingly obvious it renders comment redundant.

The question is: could it represent a useful way of training? Not so much for the physical techniques but for rehypnotising the practitioner out of the artificial "sheep" mindset into one of taking decisive violent action when needed.

you can get the "Thug- Jitsu: Intelligent Asymmetric Responses to Violence" Course here

  • I've been learning Thugjitsu from a club in Scotland from an instructor who based his programme on your videos. It's been really enjoyable, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of your DVDs, more-so your psychological aspect. You're not a thug, but need to be able to access a 'thug area' of your mind. It's really interesting and useful as a nightclub doorman. Thank you!

  • @Bmarks930 Glad your enjoying the material, cheers.

  • hey, i can see this video is pretty old, i followed the link and that i guess is what real violence is, i live in brixton, probably the worst area of london, no chance you will be in a 1 vs 1 fight! the fact that there are 5 or 6 people against u, really lowers the odds of acomplishing anything. whats the best thing u can do in this situation? guess it wud have to be good old fashion run :D

  • @lechiman01 I lived in Bermondsey for 6 months, by the Milwall stadium, every time I wanted to go to the bank I had to go into Peckham, so I know what you mean. A lot of it comes down to social intelligence, being able to blend in when needed, knowing when to be assertive and how much and just not being in those "wrong place wrong time" scenarios and maybe giving potential predators a few signals youre more trouble than its worth. I cant run away from these skinny youths, they would catch me ;-)

  • @ChadC919 However, I hope I find more truth about seeing each situation as new.

  • @kurtu5 It's exactly that initiation that I feel is ignoble. Even in a tournament I couldn't make myself "aggress". Instead, I just stayed kinetic and yes I "lost".

  • I've tried stairing into a mirror and showing that "thug" and even "evil" mentality that we are all capable of. I thought it was really working, but I was reminded of a quote: "Nevertheless some thoughts are useless to man; they are like waves moving in the sea without result. But if the faculty of meditation is bathed in the inner light and characterized with divine attributes, the results will be confirmed." @Streetfightsecrets I'm not at your level of study in martial arts though.

  • i think the video i just recently posted on my page will show you real world violence, you MUST defend yourself. please watch the video on my page.

  • The non-aggression principle is an ethical stance which asserts that "aggression" is inherently illegitimate. "Aggression" is defined as the "initiation" of physical force against persons or property, the threat of such, or fraud upon persons or their property.

    So says wikipedia.

What you advocate is not preemptive aggression. Please don't use these words to describe yourself. What you suggest IS "spiritually advanced...morally right". Its counter-intuitive and people need to be shown this
