Irish Wildlife - Badgers

Despite being a "protected species", the badger is one of Ireland's most persecuted creatures. A major killer of this gentle and social animal is the Department of Agriculture. Under licence from the National Parks and Wildlife Service, the Department has cruelly snared tens of thousands of badgers to date in a so-called TB-eradication scheme that has been slammed as "slaughter masquerading as science".
