I am currently wearing a hat that looks like hers.  I've watched this clip a bunch of times, but when I bought the hat I was not thinking about this clip. Not consciously at least. Miss Ross is BOSS.

@supremes1964 Some things are ONCE in a lifetime. This is she. If they did not have such rivalry, the Supremes with her could have maybe done more together, even though she left the group, on future projects and this would have made them and the other two ladies more successful. However, Mary & Flo tried to compete against her & Barry had his interests too & wanted to maintain control which led to other hoopla. Yet, they did have a complementary sound with that set-up. The perfect Trio!

@HealTheWorldRO Diana Ross is actually a very flawed person. On stage, from 1963 to 1983, she was one of the great singers/actresses of the era, and I've loved her my entire aware life. Just don't ever mistake a celebrity's stage presence, that flickering image of stardom, with the actual person.

@classanddignity Barbra doesn't even factor. She didn't sing live for 27 years, knows nothing about stage presence, has no versatility. You're right, Barbra's interpretation is the same regardless of material.

@tella23 I totally disagree with you. Berry picked Diana for the VOICE first, then appeal. I did not grow up w/the Supremes, but liked them due to her voice & didn't know how she looked until much later. Where Did Our Love Go hit #1 due to her voice; then people suddenly began to learn who she/they were. Diana is a good singer & performer. Barbara is very good, but does not singer everything well for her approach is the same irrespective of material. .Diana is incomparable for she's unique.
