He died then came back to life, but what echoed to me for years as a non Christian was His words... "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do." if Jesus had not sacrificed himself for us, we would not be able to go to heaven and be with God for eternity. Jesus did it out of love even though it was painful and he had to die.
