When I watched this on television, I was thinking 'don't mess it up', and holding my breath. She nailed it, and I swear I was in tears at the end for her.

First of all I would like to say that I am an oldies but goodies girl, therefore hard to impress with now a days artists. Secondly this Lady is really the real deal: beauty , power and grace a rare combination that all music producers are looking for. And last but not least not everyone can sing and best Barbara Streisand, and that high note at the end send chills up my spinal cord, I wish I poses that truly angelic voice.

Katharine was never this good on Idol ! She has really been working with some pro's who know how to get the most out of her. She has become more sophisticated and stylish now and it all adds up to I would say the BEST female singer today in any kind of music ! Katharine McPhee is a whole woman and a "10+" in all catagories. " Simply Stunning "

she's okay, I don't really like the country twang she puts in this song.... someone should shoot her voice coach. she def has an interesting sound if she is not pulling the larynx dow . will be interesting to see how she develops....over time.....no one remembers charlotte church.....

@wizarddarkanel1986 Yes, Regina Velasques kills it! She is much more developed vocally and has a better sense of timing. She is the closest thing to Streisand doing this song if your eyes were closed. McPhee puts her stamp on it, but is no comparison to the pro that Velaquez is when you listen side by side.
