I got my hands on my new, full-time infrared converted D90 695nm?), and did some field testing in a nearby motocross track.
Had to try video too! :D
Filmed with custom white balance and the 16-85 VR lens, but I'm not sure wheather the VR was on or off... Looks rather shaky.

Feel free to check my infrared photography here:

  • It's unfortunate that the channel mixers aren't adjusted. Is there a way to do that for videos?

I recently switched to D90 from D50, just a question regarding setting the WB, did you set it on a sunny day? I'm having difficulty setting it on a cloudy day with my Hoya R72 filter on. When I set it on the D50, didn't have much trouble (but could also because it was a bright sunny day when I did that.)

  • @estimachu Of course you can (won't be exactly the same though), you just need much longer exposures for the sampling.

  • beautiful ! I wish there was a land like that

  • @Bangoustine

    But there is... :o

  • Looks like the VR is on - it's just not good at stabilising movement in the axis of the lens ie "rotational" movement.

  • wow

  • What filter are you using?

  • wat white balance setting did u use in order to get the brown look ? I also use a nikon D90 camera. However, no matter how i set the white balance, it always produces the reddish look ! could u please tell me.

  • @DrKissAkosZoltan ok but we can't see it with our eyes

  • @tudortube

I can do the same as well with this camera, with better sensor and better lenses. What would be the point?

  • @8x50scope Forever I guess. Just DIY with a D3100. :)
