American Companies are among the worse run businesses in the world .

they pump out mediocre product and run their business on short term gain cycles.

America has to tax petrol more to make it more expensive and cut oil imports. Only then will the populace demand more efficient cars. GM and Ford already design and make small efficient and reliable cars but at their foreign subsidiaries. Put some of these designs into production at home once the people want them. Europeans and Americans spend the same amount on petrol. But Tax means the Europeans get a lot less for their buck.
