  • I mean the third one next to the 2nd snare the black pad.

  • @kentsmedblom Oh, that's just an electric drum pad.

  • Whats that additional snare for? is that just a triggered pad? what kind?

  • @kentsmedblom That's just Mayer's style to use a secondary snare. I'm not sure what type of triggers he uses though.

  • Sounds really great. What is he using on the side snare at 2:00?

  • @patrickeijdems He's using a snare ring to dampen the sound. And he has a trigger on it to make it sound different through a speaker.

  • sounds like soundtrack for Mortal Kombat or Tekken or something.

  • @patrickeijdems he's using the edge of a cymbal on his snare to get that sort of trashier sound

  • noice!!!

  • @DMeloMan

Actually you are wrong. It's a roland practice pad. It has quite a loud noise for a practicepad, but it has the sharpness of those scottish marchingdrums.

  • Watching Jojo Mayer play matched makes me feel dirty

  • awesome amazing groove at 4:32!!!

  • @DMeloMan it isnt an electric pad is it actually a product remo made that is like a marching snare. pretty awesome

  • @DMeloMan

    It's not!

    I think it's a Remo Soundshape.

  • actually, the black pad is Remo Sound Shape TTS...

The ring around the auxillary, Snare, it's a end peice of a cymbal, to make it sound electronic... Also with the reverb on the snare to make it sound more electric.

I hope that helps guys. :)
