1990 mustang gt problem

there is a whining coming from inside the trans. i cant tell where exactly, i havent gone underneath yet. Anyone have any ideas of what it is?

@7kevin11 sorry no i did not. the first day i got insurance on it i was driving it and the trans went. car would barely move. i believe it was the pump tho. i didnt bother repairing it, i just replaced it

@7kevin11 i will try and remember to post a comment on here when i take the trans apart. im planning on taking it apart and rebuilding it in the next month or so

@7kevin11 i started to take apart the trans today. so far the clutches look ok, one band is shot. and the one way roller clutch IS making noise. but i stopped for the day havent gone any farther then that. ill update as the rebuild continues. hope anything i put helps

Thanks for the updates! I need to pull the c4 out of my car. It was making a gear drive noise from the bell housing area. The noise level went down after the car was turned off then restarted.
