Venus or UFO? Norway, Bergen 22.July 2009.

At first look I thought that I was watching a UFO... but luckily Google saved my sanity, according to dozens of discussions out there, Venus has been observed in other countries too during the last week.

The video was taken in Bergen Norway, at approx. 3:12 am the entire show ended at 5 am. For the exact time... the beep in the background is from my alarm clock sett to 03:25. The mountain you see under Venus is Ulriken mountain.

To be totally honest, I never cared for UFOs or aliens, although I must admit that ET was one of my favorites movies :) It was Venus, most likely. But, I found it very peculiar that the local media (two local papers), have totally ignored the event! Ok, it was 3 am to 5 am, and people usually sleep at these hours, but it is a public holiday! And I am certain that many others must have seen the same Venus, or whatever it was. VERY STRANGE! And yes I sent a link of the video to the local media.

Så det samme over Oslo. Da var kl ca 0220. Sendte mail til VG uten å få svar. Ser vanligvis ikke stjerner over oslo pga mye luftforurensing. Prøvde å filme også, men kameraet mitt er crap og det ble dårlig kvalitet.

Kunne du se den bevege seg?Jeg såg noe merkelig i kveld,filmet det,men noen sekunder når jeg var borte så hadde det helt forsvunnet å jeg håper noen har fått det med seg for hverken en planet eller satelitt kan vell bevege seg så lavt å så fort vell?

@MrYellowJ No.. if it was the ISS you would see it move across the night sky relatively quickly (or noticeably quickly), this is probably Venus when it is right near Earth.

I see this to every morning, but I think its the ISS, Or Sirius A. But I 99% sure its The ISS (International Space Station)

Both Venus and Jupiter were in the sky at 3am on July 22nd as seen in Norway. Jupiter was towards the South and Venus was towards the East. The shimmering effect is usually caused by atmospheric air-currents or heat rising.
