I've always thought that right-wingers promoted the "Birther" nonsense in order to discredit President Obama because of his race.

@CrazyCheeseMagee a lot of conspiracy theorists don't seem to understand the difference between absolute truth and something that's been reasonably proven beyond doubt
-
Obama actually DID finally show his long-form birth certificate, KNOWING that the birthers would claim it was a fake. They're conspiracy theorists, and like others such as truthers, deathers, holocaust deniers, etc., NO amount of proof and NO kinds of proof will get them to realize they are wrong.
-
Actually, they didn't forge it. 4chan did, and sent it to the Birthers to make them look stupid. Well, more stupid.
-
Please make more videos... i rally like the way you voice your opinion
-
They are just trying to make him look bad because he won. Like he's doing much now anyway.
-
The birthers and 911 truthers are all credulous fools.
They're "resoning" is the reverse of sane people. The more evidence there is against their position, the more zealous they get.

The Indonesia thing comes up because he lived there when he was a child.
Indonesians are asians not blacks.

@snacky1973 I'll begin with my advice I give to everyone. READ THE CONSTITUTION. It has absolutely nothing to do with parentage. The U.S. operates on what is called a Jus Soli system. Anyone born in the U.S. is by definition an American. It can also travel through parents, even if you are born elswhere in the world. To qualify for the presidency the candidate must have Jus Soli citizenship or as the constitution calls it "Natural Born" citizenship. Their parents do not matter at all.

You admit to agreeing with the core principle of the birthers.
How should the rest of us take that? How is it "categorically crazy" to think the president should prove he fits the TWO requirements of office?

**** "You have to show ID to get just about any job... I don't see how its unreasonable to ask the same for the office of the president." -- hossrex ***
Is quoted text from one of your previous misinformation. If there was a mistake it was that I didn't ensure that the text was attributed to you. The only thing that I will admit is that you are categorically crazy.
Again, it doesn't matter where John McCain was born. John McCain was the son of two U.S. citizens who happened to be abroad. He was a citizen of the United States from birth. Barack Obama needs to have been born on U.S. soil in order to qualify for U.S. citizenship, because his parentage is not sufficient to qualify him. This really isn't that hard, people. I agree that Obama was born on U.S. soil, but McCain is a complete red herring to this argument. His citizenship is indisputable.

@snacky1973
That's actually true; I think the point that can be taken away from both observations is that people have all kinds of funy ideas about what does and doesn't qualify as citizenship.
