  • Do underground driver's get like assigned to a depot which they will go back too everyday or could you finish shifts anywhere? eg hainhault or ruislip thanks for the epic videos aswell by the way.

  • @hatton7

Yes. Our book-on time is from our home depot, and even if we finish at another depot, our book-off time allows enough time to travel back to our home depot. We don't have to return to the home depot, if for instance a driver lives in the opposite direction, he can just go home.

  • How are they applying power almost all the way to the end even though there's no third and fourth rail there?

    Great vid btw. :)

  • @lewisthecollard

There are no current rails in the shed. There is enough power being picked up by the last carriage to get in there, plus the momentum of the train.

There are 640 volt plug-in leads in the shed to keep the train's equipment running whilst it's in there, and to get it back out far enough for the first carriage to pick up power from the rails.

(I copied and pasted this reply from "Tube Goes To Shed 2". Check out that vid if you haven't seen it already)

  • @PESTinUK , great videos !, i think it was always a cardinal sin if you left the sheds with receptical leads still plugged in and the guard or depot staff forgot to remove them resulting in them being yanked off the overhead trolley track and doing all sorts of damage to the train and the leads !,

  • Do you just coast the train in or it the track still powered.

  • Holy crap! What a MAZE of switches!

  • the very same although i always considered myself ex loughton. I was leytonstone by conscription
