Art Carney singing Twas The Night Before Christmas 1954. It is done in a sing song rap style. I heard it on the radio Friday and loved it. I just had to post it. The camera isn't very good in low light but my dog Midnight was good finally in this 10th take. Enjoy!
It reminds me of the way the theme song for Fresh Prince is done.

  • Do the Hucklebuck!

  • Art Carney was the best! Even Jackie Gleason admitted that Carney was the best thing about "The Honeymooners". I miss him a lot.

  • i loved the poem since i was little and to this day i still love it

  • the 1st rap

  • This was my first exposure to the poem. I still can't recall the two lines that Art Carney omitted on this performance...If I recall Gene Autrey's "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" was next on the album.

  • Art Carney could dance his behind off too! Remember MC Hammer? He was not the first one dancing like that! Art Carney did back in the 50's! Can you believe that? He sure did!
