I was readin' CBS' logo history on Wikipedia sometime back, I stumbled 'cross 1 other staff designer who may've done some work on da eye symbol, Georg Olden; an African-American who achieved some notoriety in the postwar graphic design field.

Lou Dorfsman has a pretty bad wig atop his head. I'm glad he was able to tell this history, however.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised when YouTube comments descend into conspiracies/secret cults/manipulation of our minds, and all that rot, but still...this is merely an abstract symbol of a commercial TV network, folks. Get over it.

Thank you for this YT clip. I'd seen sporadic images of the CBS eye as the iris-as-diaphragm-shutter, and always wondered where it came from.
