This is camcorder footage shot in 1988 driving south from Lane Avenue on the Ohio State University campus all the way to Schiller Park in German Village. This is the edited version. If requested, I will uploaded the raw footage. Most of the bars in south campus were razed to make way for the South Campus Gateway. Here are some of the structures I can identify. Feel free to add to the list in comments (please note the order and timer) and I'll add it to the description.

@willDANCEforPENNIES How is the area around southwest square mall and southland malls?I'm going to be staying in Obetz and was gonna park one of these places and take a taxi downtown from there for an event.Is south high street between german village and I 270 a bad area?

Lot's of memories....sad to see the old south campus...we all miss it...the new south campus has all the personality and character of an operating room.

@itskafka The demise of City Center is truly a sad thing for me to experience. That mall was a huge part of my later teen years. I moved out of the area in '96, and came back for a visit in '06. I was shocked to see the dead mall that it had become, and how dead the downtown area was. Polaris just is not the same to me.
